Participation at your own risk
An outdoor walk carries risks such as falls, uneven ground, collisions, physical exertion and weather exposure. These may cause injury, pain and suffering, or, in severe cases, permanent injury or death.
To the extent permitted by South African law, the organisers and venue are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from participation. This does not exclude liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or any liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Each adult must sign their own form. A parent or legal guardian must sign for each minor. Bring the completed form to the walk.
What participants need to know
These English explanations accompany the organisers’ Afrikaans indemnity form for Walk With Carli at Lavender Kontrei Mark. Read both before registering, paying or taking part.
Injuries and accidents
Participation is voluntary and at your own risk, subject to the legal limits above. Walking can involve falls, injuries, accidents and unforeseen incidents. Take reasonable care for your own safety and follow reasonable safety instructions.
Belongings, loss and damage
Look after your personal belongings. To the extent permitted by law, the organisers are not responsible for theft, loss or damage to personal property.
Organisers and venue
The supplied form limits liability, to the extent permitted by South African law, for claims, injuries, losses or damage arising from participation. It names the Walk With Carli organisers and Lavender Kontrei Mark, including their employees, volunteers and representatives. It does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in this notice excludes liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or takes away rights that the law protects.
Responsible participation
Act responsibly, obey traffic and safety rules, and respect other participants’ safety and rights.
Children and group registrations
A parent or legal guardian must supervise minors in their care and complete and sign a form for each minor. Each adult must complete and sign their own form. Registering a group does not replace the individual forms.

Your indemnity form
Download the original Afrikaans form, print it, complete the participant and emergency contact details, and sign and date it. Complete the parent/guardian section where applicable. Bring it to the walk.
